Print wins a prize. It is always pretty exciting to win something and I certainly was absolutely thrilled to be awarded 2nd prize in the Blown by Art exhibition with my print Poles on the Beach. This is an intaglio work - drypoint, which has been done with al la poupee technique and then handcoloured with watercolour . If there is anyone who would like to purchase this piece it is for sale for $250 AUD. I enjoyed doing it so much and love the narrative behind it. The poles were exposed during very heavy seas at Catherine Hill Bay. These poles are remnants of the railway that ran along the coast line to take the coal to be loaded onto the ships. These prints are Unique State in that no two prints will be exactly alike.
