Using emphemeral material in sculpture has been an interesting learning curve. It is important to 'value add'. I am currently working on a small sculpture which will eventually be for indoors. It is made of natural found objects such as pods, driftwood and bark. I have found that the driftwood and pod required a lot of cleaning back. I am enjoying the texture and clean lines achieved by cleaning. What once were a grey piece of driftwood and a dull, blackish pod, now glisten with natural colour enhanced by wax .
