Artist Statement
I am on an art road, a traveller who captures images and weaves a visual narrative through printmaking and sculpture. Narratives are woven by employing both traditional and innovative printmaking methodologies such as overlaying images, multi-plates, collage, the use of tonal variation, and mixed media.
Sculptural works capture the narrative by use of contrasting ephemeral and manmade materials. Birds and journeys feature heavily in sculptures in the landscape.
As an artist I am filled with excitement and anticipation as the process journey takes place, from the initial drawing/image to creating a plate, inking it and then the joy of seeing the image emerge as a butterfly from a chrysalis, fragile and new waiting to fly into the vision of the world.
My most recent works capture images of birds and the land which are an integral part of my life as I travel through the Central Coast and Outback N.S.W.
