This show will focus and raise awareness of the threatened, endangered, endemic and extinct species of birds that are unique to King Island.
This body of work is the culmination of a residency Therese undertook in 2019 where she spent time researching, connecting with the land, people, history, fauna and flora of the island. She also ran workshops for the community and school imparting knowledge on art techniques and tetra pak printmaking.
In April 2021 Therese returned to King Island for a show , artist talks, community workshops bringing back to the island her impressions of the unique birds of their home.
So now Therese is gearing up to present these works to a new audience her on the coast and share her vision here. The show at Shorethyme restaurant will go until 25th April so if you cannot make the opening then go along enjoy a repast and view the show at your leisure. Shorethyme is open 6-10p.m. Tuesday to Saturdays.
